Last updated: 21 June 2026

These Terms govern your use of the MistakeLab mobile app (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

MistakeLab is operated by:

Özgün Öztürk
Neckarstraße 22B
12053 Berlin, Germany
Email: support@mistakelab.app

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use MistakeLab. By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. What MistakeLab is

MistakeLab is a language-learning tool. It shows you sentences to translate, scores your translations using AI, explains your mistakes, and tracks your skill as a rating over time. The App is provided for personal, educational use.

4. Accounts

You can use MistakeLab as an anonymous guest, or create an account with an email address to save your progress across devices. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Linking a guest session to an account preserves your existing progress.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

To keep the service available to everyone, the App applies a fair-use limit on the number of exercises per day.

6. About the AI feedback

MistakeLab’s scores and corrections are generated by an automated AI system. The feedback is intended to help you learn, but it is not guaranteed to be perfect, complete, or authoritative. AI grading can vary and may occasionally be wrong. You should not rely on it as a substitute for professional language instruction, certification, or formal assessment. Your rating is a measure of performance within the App, not an official language qualification.

7. Availability and changes

We provide the App on a best-effort basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The App is currently provided free of charge.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, and its content (excluding your own submissions) belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of the translation text you submit; by submitting it, you allow us to process it to provide scoring and feedback as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, liability for intent or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules).

11. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time using the in-app tools. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you reside.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
